Welcome

This website is designed to help parents (and carers) educate their children on constipation and how what they eat can affect their poo's.

This website is based around what children eat and the effects on the bowels. It is also recommended children drink plenty of water, have sufficient exercise and develop good toilet habits. All can improve the outcomes for children with constipation.

Getting started:

You'll need:

-an Eat Well Plate picture (found in the resources section)

-a playdough extruder (see blue and yellow tool on the picture on the right).

-a bowl

-a spoon (optional)

-ingredients (as described below)

You'll need half a cup of plain flour with a tea spoon of nutmeg and half a teabag in 1 vessel, in vessel 2 put a quarter of a cup of salt, in vessel 3 put in a quarter of a cup of water, with 2 drops of green food colouring. It should appear like the picture on the right, with the 3 vessels of ingredients, representing each food group. You could put colour co-ordinating stickers on the correlating vessel to make it clear to your child which vessel is which food group.

The amounts have to reflect the flour, salt, water ratio's as 2:1:1

Do the activity and discuss with your child as directed in the instructions (found in the resources) or using the video as a guide.
